Using the Domta

The DOMTA installation tool is recommended for the installation of the MT family of anchors.

This tool should be inserted in the hole using percussion mode so that when the DOMTA is placed on the upper part of the anchor, it is installed when it receives the impacts on the impact zone of the anchor.

The DOMTA installation tool comes in two sizes, depending on the size of the anchor to be installed:

  • DOMTA10: for anchor sizes M6, M8 and M10

  • DOMTA20: for anchor sizes M12, M14, M16 and M20.

The installation process basically consists in selecting the tool based on the size of the anchor to be installed (DOMTA10 or DOMTA12), placing the DOMTA tool in the hole, putting the drill in percussion mode and placing it over the anchor impact area. By striking the tool on the anchor impact area, it is inserted directly into the base material. The installation depth of the anchor must be respected, indicated by the colour mark on the axis. Later, the installation torque required must be applied.

Its main advantages compared to striking the anchor directly with a hammer are as follows:

  • Savings in installation time, since this way of installing the anchor is quicker than the traditional way of striking the anchor head with a hammer.

  • Easier and safer installation. It stops the user from hitting their fingers when holding the anchor in place during installation. In ceiling installations, it simplifies installation, since it avoids striking vertically and in positions that are awkward for the installer.

  • The anchor thread and its coating are not damaged. Traditionally, by striking the anchor directly with the hammer, the coating can be damaged, or a misplaced hit can damage the edges of the thread, preventing the correct threading of the nut for installation or removal.

  • It makes it possible to install the anchor in areas with reduced or difficult access, such as with shelf anchor plates, supports, etc., since the space required for installation is reduced. In these areas with difficult access, when striking directly with the hammer, there may not be enough space to hit with precision or hit the anchor plate, damaging the anchor or the element to be fixed. By using this tool for installation, these unwanted effects are substantially reduced.
