An ICC-ES ESR Report is a document that presents the findings, conclusions and recommendations of a particular assessment. ICC-ES ESR reports verify that new and innovative construction products comply with code requirements. ICC-ES ESR reports provide information about which code requirements or acceptance criteria were used to asses a product, and how it must be identified, installed and much more.

ICC-ES ESR reports are used preferentially in countries where fixings are calculated based on the American calculation code ACI 318.

What does an ICC-ES provide for businesses?

The availability of an ICC-ES ESR assessment for an anchor provides users with parameters for calculating anchors obtained through standardised tests performed by an official independent laboratory.

How is an ICC-ES obtained?

To obtain an approval for anchors, the manufacturing and testing process is subjected to an independent audit to demonstrate that they are done using the proper means, and are controlled by qualified personnel under approved inspection and testing processes. Once the approval is obtained, this audit is repeated every six months.

Which tests are done during the approval process?

The tests for mechanical anchors are done in accordance with the ACI 355.2 standard and the ICC-ES AC 193 acceptance criteria. They include reference tests, suitability tests and service conditions tests, both under the conditions intended by the manufacturer and under adverse conditions that may be found on site.
