GEV - EMICODE®

EMICODE is an international environmental label, created in 1997, that makes it possible to identify construction products with low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and with the requirements of “green construction”.

The EMICODE is administered by the GEV (Association for Emission-Controlled Installation Materials).

What are Volatile organic compounds?

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) are all compounds in a gaseous state or highly volatile at normal ambient temperature, allowing them to propagate in the environment, modify their chemical composition and generate direct or indirect impacts on the environment. They are one of the main contaminants and lead to the formation of ozone and the greenhouse effect.
